It's my blog's one year anniversary! Wow! Hopefully I've grown a little since starting. Let's look back on my very first post and see what's changed, or, what's stayed the same.... Well we don't have those pigs anymore, unless you count living in the freezer as a home. :) And thankfully I don't get as distracted as I did back when I was two, unless someone's cooking bacon. Yum! My fur's still golden yellow - I'd be worried if it changed! I also still don't like getting all that dirty, but Ivy's helped me learn to enjoy a little mud every now and then. Of course, I still eat mini marshmallows, just not recently because someone needs to go on a cupboard hunt and find them!! (Girl, if I was allowed in the kitchen, I do it for you. Just sayin'.)
What else will I do in 2016?? Ivy, Missy, Girl and I will probably go to nursing homes again. The people there love us and we love it too! They like to pet us and tell Girl and Missy about their past and present pets. (Once we even met a guy who used to breed Golden Retrievers! What are the chances!) They really loved it when we brought the pups to see them! Speaking of pups, maybe I'll have more puppies this year, but I have some sad news to tell you... well maybe Girl should say... “Like Noah mentioned, We have some sad news that needs to be said. Ivy won't be having puppies anymore due to getting Pyometra, which is an infection of the uterus. It is not hereditary and normally occurs in dogs older than 6 years of age. We are so thankful that we, with the help of our vet, were able to catch the infection in time to spay Ivy without secondary complications happening from the infection, saving her life.” Ivy, do you want to say anything? “Sure, while I am saddened not to have puppies again, I'm thankful that I could have six, sweet puppies last July, that have great human families who love them lots and are teaching them good manners. I'm also glad that I'm not sick anymore, because being sick is no fun at all. I look forward to being able to compete in Agility, Rally and other fun shows without having to worry about if I'll be in heat on show day. Missy still loves me, and I am first and foremost, her adored dog friend.”
“We are looking into getting another female Golden, but it will take time. We just wanted to keep our friends updated on what we're all doing.” So that's the sad news. My normal days consist of blogging, training with Girl, playing outside, (Girl brushing my teeth, "blahhhhh") and taking naps, so that kinda fills up my time. But what ever I do, I'm gonna seize the day that the good Lord has given me! And make Girl smile. Or teach her something, because that's part of my job as being her dog. Anyways, I'll keep you posted about what I'm doing though my blog, email updates and facebook! ♥ Noah Ripple Creek Retrievers now has a Facebook page!
