As promised last week, here's a Meet the Farm Friday video! In it you'll get to meet most of our animals and and get an idea of what our farm looks like. I hope you've enjoyed getting to meet most of our furry friends over the past few months, if you missed a post (or just wanted to see Buddy with his donuts again!) click below:

Meet our lambs: (five lambies, a pair of twins and a set of triplets belonging to Girl's brother Boy) Age: Two weeks old. Breed: White-Faced crosses, and Black-Faced crosses (we'll let you guess which is which ;) ). Favorite food: At this point, all they love is their mama's milk! Fun fact: They were born right here on our little farm, and had over 8 visitors within the first week or so of being born. Another fun fact: Their wool has been reported to feel like cauliflower! Check back here next Friday for a Meet the Farm Friday video (and yes, these sweet lambs will be featured in it)!
Meet our pigs: (two pigs, a brother and a sister) Age: about five months Names: Reggie and Regina. Their last name is Regal. Favorite food: EVERYTHING! They seriously think suppertime is the best time, and always greet the one doing chores with impatient grunts until their feeding trough gets filled! Fun fact: They say "Hey! Hey!" when they want your attention (aka all the time!), and get really surprised if you touch them. Check back here next Friday to meet our new lambs!!
The Four Silkies
(Missy's other chickens) Age: About five months Favorite food: Dried meal worms Fun fact: They look nothing like the other chickens! Aside from their fluffy white feathers, they have black skin and blue earlobes. They also have cute little "top-knots", as Missy labeled the feathers perched on the top of their heads, and silver beaks. They recently started laying tiny eggs which is exciting. We're hoping that they'll sit on eggs in the Spring so we can hatch some chicks of our own! Please note that this is the last of the "Meet the Farm Series" for this year. I may do more once we get some new arrivals on our farm. :) Merry:
(Merry is our oldest cat, and he is a male. ) Age: 6 years? Favorite food: meat? Merry used to be quite grumpy, but now he does enjoy petting more often. Somedays it looks like he babysits Cricket, so that Dash can take a break from watching the kitten of the farm! Fun fact: He was found as a tiny kitten along the side of a road in Michigan and being quite wild, he was brought home in a sock to keep him warm, and to keep us from scratches. Meet our sheep: (two Jacob sheep, and two crossbred sheep, all owned by Girl's brother) Ages: The Jacob's are about five months old, and the crossbreds are around a year. Names: The two Jacobs have names, Rachel and Leah, and they were bought from a man named Laban. (No joke! See Genesis 29:16 ) The other two sheep are unnamed at this point. Fun fact: The sheep got to show at our local 4H fair and even won some ribbons this year! Blessings on your weekend!
Meet our cows:
(Five cows; three lil' calves, and two big boys) Ages: The two older ones are a year and half. Then the next two are a few months old and we have a baby in the barn who's just six weeks old. Names: While the other names have been forgotten (one was Sir Loin), the baby calves' name is Sue. (Think Johnny Cash... and yes, it's a "he" ;) ) Favorite foods: Our cows main dish is fresh grass, but they love getting kitchen scraps, and apples off the backyard tree. They also get grain from time to time. Fun fact: They came from a dairy farm next door - so they used to be neighbors! |
